Dancehall artiste Mavado for LIME Carifta Games & Portmore Seafood Festival

Dancehall; artiste Mavado, whose given name is David Brooks, is the latest addition to the line-up for the LIME ‘Zone’ at the 40th staging of the CARIFTA Games.

The competition, which is now being sponsored by telecommunications company LIME, is scheduled for this weekend, April 23 to 25 at the Catherine Hall Sports Complex in Montego Bay, St. James.

The lineup will also feature dancehall artiste Shane-O and some of Jamaica’s top disc jockeys including ZJ Elektra, ZJ Liquid and Crazy Chris.

More than 150 events will be staged at the competition including sprints, distance races, relays and field events.
In the meantime, Mavado will also be performing at the third staging of the Portmore Seafood Festival.
Mavado and fellow dancehall and reggae artiste I-Octane will headline the festival on April 25 at Waves Beach in Portmore, St. Catherine.

According to sources, the buzz around the event this year has reached fever pitch. "The anticipation is high for the event, the community of Portmore is looking forward to the performances of Mavado, Octane, and the high

quality entertainment that the organizers will have in store for the patrons at this
year's festival," said a representative for the Abuka Entertainment, which is the entity responsible for entertainment at the festival.

"Last year, the patrons had a great time with Beenie Man and his
daughter Baby Trish, it was a great family day, with lots of activities for the family. This year they promise its going to be even bigger and better," the representative added.
Some of the other artistes billed for the festival include Toya, D'Angel, Ding Dong, Natural Blacks, DJ Nicholas, Ken Boothe, Cali and Yellowman.
