St Andrew businessman Patrick Powell, who has been charged with the killing of 17-year-old Kingston College student Khajeel Mais, was further remanded in the Home Circuit Court yesterday.
He is to return to court on September 16.
Powell's attorney, Patrick Atkinson failed to file a bail application in court as there was no forensic evidence and further statements are to be served by the prosecution.
Powell, a businessman of Belgrade Loop, St Andrew, was recently charged by detectives from the Major Investigation Task Force (MIT) with murder, shooting with intent, illegal possession of firearm, illegal possession of ammunition and failure to produce his firearm for inspection.
Mais was shot dead on July 1, allegedly by the driver of a BMW X6, after the cab he was travelling in was involved in a minor accident with the SUV.
It is alleged that the driver of the X6 became angry and retaliated by blocking the road and firing wildly into the taxi.
Mais, who was reportedly shot in the head, later died at the Kingston Public Hospital. The taxi driver escaped injury.
